When Golf World recently ranked the top 100 golf courses within the British Isles, to the surprise of many, 47 were located in England.

More surprisingly to many, 5 of the very best link courses were to be found along a stretch of 40 miles of coastline between the mighty Port City of Liverpool and the seaside resort of Blackpool.

Almost an unbelievable 24 courses occupy this stretch of coast from the unknown to the world famous – Royal Birkdale, Royal Lytham & St Anne’s, Royal Liverpool, Formby and the Hillside.

Add to these the lesser known, but perhaps no less demanding, Fairhaven, Southport and Ainsdale, Wallasey and even just slightly further south, the Carden and the choices will spoil you.

Once again the area offers something for everyone with the vibrancy of Liverpool and the uniqueness of Blackpool along with stunning scenery and much history.
